Expanded Tourism

Expanded Tourism was a week-long workshop that took place on the major tourist destination Tenerife. It was a creative laboratory alternative artistic techniques that reimagined tourism as performance.

An example of one of the activities was The Gods are Thirsty. This was an ascent of the active volcano El Teide which started in the night, arriving at the summit in the early morning. The spirit of the tourist was brought to this by making beer offerings to the third largest volcano in the world at regular intervals.
